(Dharshini.G ,Intern journalist) Sydney, Australia: A shark “grabbed” a 10-year-old kid from a fishing boat in Australia on Friday however swam off after his father bounced in to save him, authorities said.

The kid was taken to a medical clinic in stable condition with injuries on his arm, chest, and head after the unexpected attack on the island state of Tasmania, the nearby government revealed.

The kid was wearing a life vest when he went with his dad and two other men fishing five kilometers (three miles) from shore when the shark “grabbed him from the boat”, it said in a report.

Australia has one of the world’s highest frequencies of shark attacks and there have been five lethal maulings in the nation so far this year.
