(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist): Thieves in the capital Patna have once again carried out a major crime by challenging the police. The thieves cleaned their hands on cash worth more than Rs 6 lakh and other valuables, including gold and silver jewelry, from journalist Abhishek Kumar’s house in East Laxminagar in Khemneechak, adjacent to Patna. Theft has been around 20 lakhs.
Abhishek is a journalist in a large Noida group, while his father Shravan Kumar lives in a house in Ramdahin Pandit’s house in East Laxminagar. On October 28, his entire family had gone to his village in the flood to vote. The house was locked. The door latch was broken when the family reached their house in Patna after casting their vote at half-past one on Saturday afternoon. The thieves had cut and thrown three locks.
When they reached inside the house, they were stunned to see the scene there. The lock of the cupboard was found broken and six lakh 60 thousand rupees in cash, 22 full gold jewelry, and other expensive clothes were found missing. Goods were scattered in the rooms. Ramakrishna Nagar Police Station President Rajeshwar Prasad said that the theft has been reported and an investigation is being done. Footage of CCTV cameras installed around is being scrutinized. Thieves will soon be caught.
