330 elephants died this year in Botswana

(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist): Authorities in Botswana said that toxins in water produced by cyanobacteria have caused the deaths of at least 330 elephants in the country this year. Explaining the possible reason for only elephants dying from it, an official said, “Elephants are the only animals drinking below the surface of the water and sucking the slit, which is where these toxins reside.”
