(Satya Havilah, Intern Journalist) Maharashtra: Bird flu has killed 382 birds in nine districts in Maharashtra. The death toll from bird flu has risen to 3,378. Bird flu cases have been reported in Latur, Nanded, Nashik, and Ahmednagar districts. The samples were tested at the National Institute of Bird Disease Control in Bhopal and Pune, where 382 birds died on January 14. Bird flu has infected crows and chickens in Mumbai, Ghodbandar, and Dapoli areas.
Bird flu has hit Parbhani, Latur, Beed, and Nanded districts. Samples collected from chickens in Akola, Amravati, Ahmednagar, Pune, and Solapur were found to be bird flu negative. Samples collected from crows in Mumbai, Beed, Thane, Ratnagiri, Nashik, and Nanded areas tested positive for bird flu. The Maharashtra government along with the Center is taking steps to prevent the spread of bird flu.
