Rajnandgaon: A police sub-inspector (SI) was killed while 4 policemen were reported killed in a Friday night encounter at Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh. Tributes were paid to the martyred soldier in Rajnandgaon.
An encounter took place between the security forces and the Naxals in the village of Pardhoni under Manpur police station. Several weapons along with the bodies of 4 Naxals were recovered from the spot. These weapons included 1 AK-47 rifle, 1 SLR, and two 315 bore rifles. This information was given by ASP GN Rajaghel of Rajnandgaon on Saturday.
It is noteworthy that an encounter between District Police and Naxalites took place in the Madanwara area under Manpur Police Station on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. In this encounter, Sub Inspector Shyam Kishore Sharma of Madanwada Police Station was martyred. He was a resident of Surguja.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel gave the information by tweeting and said, ‘The news of the martyrdom of police station in-charge of Madanwara, Shyam Kishore Sharma during the police Naxalite encountered in Pardhauni village near Madanwara of Rajnandgaon is sad. Four Naxalites have been killed in this encounter.
Director-General of Police DM Awasthi (DM Awasthi) said while paying tribute to the martyred police personnel, “Madanwara police station in-charge Shyam Kishore Sharma was killed in an encounter in police Naxals in Madanwara of Rajnandgaon district. I salute their martyrdom. We will always remember his indomitable courage. In this encounter, four brave Naxals have also been killed by our brave soldiers. Everyone’s dead bodies have been recovered. 1 AK-47, 1 SLR, and 12 bore guns have also been recovered.
