(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Lucknow: Vehicles running unregistered in the city have become a headache for RTO. Even after repeated notices, the car owners are not warning. Even after the completion of 15 years, two and four wheelers are running without registration on the road. Now if such vehicles are caught in checking, a fine of up to Rs 5000 will have to be paid.
The number of such vehicles is 532000 in Lucknow, while it is being reported beyond 46 lakhs in the state. This figure is as of 1 August 2020. In this, 15% of the vehicles are claimed to be on the road. Due to this, there is a danger of increasing pollution levels in the city.
ARTO administration Ankita Shukla said vehicles without registered fall under the category of crime. Despite this, the car owners remain negligent. Now if you are caught in checking for not re-registering such vehicles, then the penalty of rupees 5000 is fixed. Information of unregistered vehicles, reached from 76 districts of the state in headquarters turns out to be shocking. The most unregistered vehicles were found in Lucknow, while Kanpur was at number 2 and Varanasi at number 3. The highest pollution caused by vehicles in these three cities is making people sick.
