(Dharshini.G, Intern journalist) New Delhi: Delhi Cabinet has cleared the ‘Chief Minister Ghar Ghar Ration Yojna’, a plan to give doorstep delivery of PDS ration, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Tuesday. Hailing the plan as a “progressive advance”, the Delhi Chief minister said that once implemented, individuals of Delhi won’t need to remain in lines outside ration shops.
“Today the Cabinet cleared the “Chief Minister Ghar Ghar Ration Yojana”. On execution of this, the ration will be sent to individuals’ homes, they won’t need to go to the ration shop. This is an extremely progressive advance. For quite a long time, our fantasy was that the poor ought to get ration with respect, today that fantasy is fulfilled,” Kejriwal said.
Home delivery of ration was among the significant poll guarantees made by the Kejriwal government during the Delhi elections. Bringing the scheme into action, he said, will take six to seven months as it includes offering, selecting specialists, and others.
