New Delhi: (Geetesh Ujjainwal, Intern Journalist) On Sunday night Forty people, including 15 women, were charged for violating coronavirus induced lockdown norms after they were found partying at a cafe in west Delhi’s Paschim Vihar. Police have also arrested the owner of the cafe.
According to the cops, on Sunday evening, a patrol team heard loud music coming from a cafe in Paschim Vihar. DCP (Outer) A Koan said, “the owner, Tanway Singhal, was offering whiskey, beer, and hookah to around 40 people. The team has seized all the liquor and a case has been registered against the owner of the cafe”.
Last week, police had carried out a similar raid at another cafe barely a kilometer from the one where the raid took place on Sunday. Thirty-one people, including the owner, had been booked for violating government lockdown norms in the previous case.
