(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) These days, more than one such smartphone is coming in the market, in which users get a lot of new features. The most special among these is fast charging support. Fast charging is now days found in almost every phone and users are also liking this type of smartphone. But do you know that this fast-charging facility can prove to be dangerous for your phone?
Actually there may be a bug that has been reported these days. This report comes out in researchers from Tencent’s Shuanvu Lab. It claims that fast charging smartphones can not only melt but also catch fire. Researchers have discovered a flaw called bad power and this makes fast-charging devices dangerous and prone to destruction. Researchers claim that bad power interferes with phone performances and the result is that it starts generating more power which becomes dangerous for the device connected to it more than necessary. It is also being dangerous for chargers to be used. The lab report states that out of the 35 fast chargers they have included in the test, 18 charges have been found to have bad power flaws.
Researchers group told that bad power produces more power than proper power, affecting the performance of any charger. Actually, the firmware in these charges has to see the correct combination of voltage and the correct current for fast charging of the device connected to it. This current can be 20V to 5A maximum. The new charges have charging capacities ranging from 15 to 20W. So one can guess what it would do with its interiors.
