(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) London: Indian origin writer Avni Doshi is included in the Booker Prize Race of the year 2020. Doshi’s name is also included in the list of 13 authors who have just been made for this prestigious award of the world. Doshi, living in Dubai was selected for her debut novel, Burnt Sugar. The race also includes two times Booker Hilary Mantle’s novel, The Mirror, and The Light. After evaluating 162 novels published in the UK and Ireland between October 2019 to September 2020, the jury announced Booker Dzen on Tuesday. The award, with prize money of 50,000 British pounds, will be awarded in November. On 15 September, 6 books will be shortlisted before this and authors will get 25,000 £. Doshi in her novel depicts the unusual and complex relationship of mother-daughter with honesty and reality.
