(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist): Stranger Things actor Millie Bobby Brown will take the lead in Netflix’s forthcoming adaptation of Tess Sharpe’s novel, The Girls I’ve Been. The feature film will be produced by Jason Bateman, who won an Emmy nod for best actor for his Netflix show Ozark, along with his collaborator Michael Costigan, under his Aggregate Films Banner.

Sharpe’s book, to be released in 2021 by Penguin Random House, has been praised as a twisty and exhilarating mystery. It portrays a con artist, Nora, who must take advantage of her powers of manipulation and impersonation and save herself, her girlfriend, and ex-boyfriend in a bank hostage.

Brown will also produce through her PCMA Productions banner. The actor will be next seen in Enola Holmes, including stars like Henry Cavill, Sam Claflin, and Helena Bonham Carter. The film was recently picked by Netflix for distribution.
