Saloni Subha ( Intern Journalist ) Due to the surge in the covid-19 positive cases in the state, the Bihar government decided to further extend the statewide lockdown till August 16. The ongoing lockdown was imposed on July 16 and It was about to end on July 30.

Bihar has reported 48,001 Covid-19 cases to date, including 2,082 on Thursday. In fact, from July 25 till July 30, cases have jumped from 36,314 to 48,001. According to the notification issued by the state home department restrictions will remain in force in all areas of the state with effect from August 1 till August 16.

The public transport would not be allowed to ply in areas failing under fresh lockdown norms, However, there would be no restrictions on construction activities. Air and rail travel have been allowed by the government to continue. Offices, banks are also allowed to function but with minimal staff strength.
