(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has extended the lockdown in the state till 31 August in view of the increasing cases of Corona epidemic. During this time, a complete lockdown will be applicable for two days a week. In view of the complete lockdown in Bengal, Eastern Railway has canceled many special trains of the state. There will be complete lockdown in Bengal on August 8, 9, 16, 17, 23, 24, and 31.
According to the Railways, in view of the increasing cases of Covid-19 in West Bengal, trains have been canceled due to the applicable weekly complete lockdown. According to Eastern Railway, the Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani Special and Howrah-New Delhi Purva Express, which ran on August 8, have also been canceled.
According to the Railways, Howrah Rajdhani Express, Howrah-New Delhi Purva Express, Howrah-Jodhpur Express, and Kolkata-Amritsar Durgiana Express have been canceled for August 8. Howrah-Jodhpur Express train will not run due to a complete lockdown on 8 August in Bengal.
