(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Beirut: The Lebanese military reported that Lebanese military experts and their Frech allies have found 79 containers with hazardous chemicals in the port of Beirut, where a terrible explosion occurred earlier this month. The Lebanese army said in a statement on Monday, ‘Between 14 to 22 August, 25 containers with hydrochloric acid, as well as 54 containers with other chemicals, were found, the leak of which could be dangerous.’
Be aware, the Lebanese capital was shaken by an unexceptionally powerful explosion on 4 August. In which the port of Beirut caused havoc even at a distance of several kilometers from the sub-center. Entire districts adjoining the port area were destroyed.
Improper storage of explosive ammonium nitrate in Beirut harbor brought massive explosions, widespread destruction and killed more than 170 people and injured over 40,000 others. The Lebanese government declared a situation of emergency in the capital and resign in less than 1 week. During this time, the public anger was aroused and thousands of protesters were on the streets of Beirut.
