Rishika Iyer (Intern Journalist): President Pranab Mukherjee passes away after he was infected with covid-19. He passed away at the age of 84. His son confirmed his demise. President RamNath Kovind and various other politicians pay tribute to the late president.
“Deeply saddened by the passing away of former President, Shri Pranab Mukherjee. The country has lost an elder statesman in his death. He rose from humble beginnings to occupy the country’s highest constitutional position through hard work, discipline, and dedication” said Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice President of India.
The late president was hospitalized on August 10th due to a growing clot in his brain. After the removal of the clot in the brain, he went into a coma state for a while. According to the hospital, there has been a decline in his health since yesterday. He went into a septic shock due to the lung infection caused after he was tested covid positive. And due to this sudden shock, he passed away.
