(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) New Delhi: On the charge of not giving GST compensation to the center on behalf of the states, the Finance Minister says that the central government is not withdrawing from the full amount of compensation. Sources said that these things have also been clearly stated in the proposal for the option of borrowing given to the states. It has not been said on behalf of the Finance Minister that losses due to Corona cannot be compensated.
A senior official associated with the case said that the Central government is committed to meet the shortfall in GST collection. He also said that taking the first option of borrowing would be in the interest of the states and the private sector, but the first option does not mean that only 97 thousand crore rupees will be compensated.
