(Harleen Kaur, Intern Journalist ) Deoria, A workshop on the National Education Policy 2020 was organized in the Government Inter College Auditorium on Tuesday in which suggestions were asked from the principals, teachers, and the parents. Joint Director of Secondary Education Gorakhpur Mr. Yogendranathan Singh said that under the NEP there will be no board examinations from class 9th to 12th.
The semester exam system will apply to which students will have the freedom to choose the subject. It is compulsory to take education in regional language. He furthermore said that 25 per-cent of the students used to leave their studies by the time they reach class 8th.On reaching the high school level this number would have gone from 40 per-cent to 5- per-cent and up to the intermediate level from 50 to 56 per-cent. Only 40 to 45 per-cent of the students were able to study further. It has been arranged in the NEP that students should not be deprived of taking higher education under pressure . Online learning through television, Whatsapp, Zoom App is largely successful during the lockdown period.
