But, the game of selling fake Khadi products is also going on indiscriminately in the market. Recently, strict action was taken by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) over these fake Khadi products, due to which Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal, and other e-commerce companies selling products under their brand name ‘Khadi’ from their platforms Removed over 160 web links.
KVIC had sent legal notices to more than 1,000 companies that were using the ‘Khadi India’ brand name to sell their products. This was not only affecting the credibility of Khadi, but the Khadi artisans were also losing work. After KVIC’s notice, e-commerce platforms have taken this action.
KVIC said in a statement that after its notice, Khadi Global has stopped using its website and has also removed its social media pages from Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. It has also sought 10 days to remove all such ingredients and products which were using the brand name ‘Khadi’.
