Superintending archaeologist Basant Kumar told that they are following the SOP regarding Corona. Only 5 thousand tourists are allowed to visit the Taj Mahal. All tourists are being allowed inside the gate only after thermal screening and sanitizing. Group photo has been banned for tourists. The entire campus of the Taj Mahal has been mandated. The railing is not allowed to touch any surface of the monument. There is a facility for booking advance tickets for two months for tourists. 2500 will be allowed before 2 pm and 2500 tourists after that.
The Red Fort of Agra has also been opened along with the Taj Mahal. In the fort, 2500 tourists will be able to go inside a day. Diana benches have been laminated for safety at the Taj Mahal to be periodically sanitized. For the first time in history, Diana Bench has been laminated. Earlier, on the arrival of the British Crown Prince and US President Trump, arrangements were made to cool the Diana Bench.
In addition to 266 in the Agra division and the Taj Mahal in Agra city, eight monuments like Lal Qila, Mehtab Bagh, Akbar’s Tomb at Sikandra, Maryam’s Tomb, Etmadadoula were closed.
