According to John Hopkins University, so far, 3.58 crore cases of corona have been reported worldwide, 10 lakh 49 thousand 483 people have died from the corona. No vaccine has yet been introduced by Corona. All the major economies of the world are clouded by a crisis. The world is somehow engaged in war with Corona.
Meanwhile, the World Bank has expressed its concern in view of the situation arising out of Corona. The World Bank has warned that by 2021, at least 150 million people will fall into the category of extremely poor due to CoronaThe World Bank warned on Wednesday that by 2021, about 150 million people are expected to fall into the category of extreme poverty due to the coronavirus epidemic.
According to the Washington-based World Bank, the corona epidemic has made the severity of this year’s economic growth more challenging. The World Bank has said that by 2021, 8.8 crores to 115 million people can be pushed into additional poverty, which together, by 2021, 15 crore people of the world are at risk of becoming very poor.
David Malpas, president of the World Bank Group, has said that the epidemic and the global recession may have caused more than 1.4 percent of the world’s population to fall into poverty. He said that in order to reverse this severe setback for development progress and poverty reduction, countries must prepare for COVID after a separate economy by allowing capital, labor, skills, and innovation to step into new businesses and sectors.
