(Milcah Anila, Intern Journalist) BRITISH COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY: Everyone around you is infected with the coronavirus. Aren’t you infected? All of you are infected with the coronavirus..didn’t one of you get it? So far we think the reason for this is immunity. But more important is your blood type. Recent studies suggest that the effect of the coronavirus may depend on blood type.
Various rumors are circulating about the coronavirus that is plaguing the world. It is a well-known fact that the coronavirus does not infect or affect people who are having high immunity. But now the same thing is evident in various university researches. The new thing is that the coronavirus affects the blood group.
Not only the immune system but also the blood type can be affected by the coronavirus. If some types of blood groups are weak, some are strong. Researchers at Columbia University in the UK and Odense University Hospital in Denmark have conducted two separate studies on the coronavirus epidemic.
A study by Odense University researchers found that people with a blood group (either positive or negative) were less affected by the coronavirus. They are less likely to have organ damage or death due to the virus. However, a very small number of people with blood type “O” were found to be infected less with the virus.
