(Manisha Mahar, Intern Journalist); US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has arrived in New Delhi with his wife Susanne Pompeo. They will hold the third two plus two talks here on Tuesday. This is the third dialogue to be held in two years. The meeting, which is taking place in the US between the presidential election and tensions along the Line of Actual Control with China, is considered very important. US Defense Minister Mark Asper was given the Guard of Honor in South Block. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh received him.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said after meeting with his American counterpart Mark Asper that the discussion between the two countries was very positive. The purpose of this dialogue is to further deepen defense relations between the two countries.
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will participate in this dialogue on behalf of India. There will be talks on bilateral, regional, and global issues, including China’s rising snowfall in the Indo-Pacific region. Both will hold bilateral talks with US ministers Jaishankar and Rajnath. Also, the two US ministers will also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
With these two plus two talks, Pompeo and Espar will also hold bilateral talks with their Indian counterparts. Defense relations between India and America have increased significantly with defense relations for some years. Therefore, between the oldest and largest democracies of the world, there can be the talk of investment in the health sector of the defense sector. Pompeo tweeted that he would also travel to Sri Lanka, Maldives and Indonesia after finishing his India tour.
