(Milcah Anila, Intern Journalist) Hyderabad: The government has tightened the implementation of scholarships and fee reimbursement schemes for post-metric students. It has made it mandatory for students to submit their fingerprints to these schemes, which are conducted online.
Every student is no longer required to make a biometric entry after applying to this pass website. Until now, the welfare officer had the power to approve the application by manually entering the details.
But now the application will reach the welfare officer only if every student submits the affixed fingerprints on the basis. Problems with matching Aadhaar-based fingerprints, however. The fingerprints given by the students at the time of obtaining the Aadhaar card do not match the prints currently submitted. Changes in fingerprints occur as children grow faster.
If I update Student Aadhaar number is mandatory in the application for scholarships and fee reimbursement. With the entry of this number, the fingerprints associated with it will be part of the application. This application will reach the College Principal Login.
The student is required to submit his / her fingerprints after opening and examining the application there. However, the software does not accept any difference in the fingerprints associated with the base.
UIDAI regulations require that the Aadhaar card be updated every five years. The changes that have taken place over the past five years have made it possible for new entrants to enter. Welfare officials are currently clarifying that post metric students need this update process. Scholarships for students who have not updated their Aadhaar for a long time are facing difficulties in applying for scholarships and fee reimbursement.
Deadline for November 30: The government has set a deadline of November 30 for applications for scholarships and fee reimbursement schemes for the 2020–21 academic year. The deadline has already passed.
Due to the spread of Covid-19 and the delay in the admissions process, the acceptance of applications has started late. Students who have not updated their Aadhaar for a long time will have to submit their fingerprints at the Aadhaar registration centers as there is time to apply till the end of next month.
