(Milcah Anila, Intern Journalist) New Delhi: There are signs of declining corona calm in the country.
This is due to a nearly 30 percent drop in new cases in October compared to September. New cases are being registered at less than 50,000 per day. In the last 24 hours, 46,963 new corona cases were reported in the country. This brings the total number of cases to 81,84,082, according to the Union Health Ministry.
The death toll rose to 1,22,111 from 470 during the same period, the health ministry said. The total number of recoveries in the country was 74,91,513, while the number of active cases was 5,70,458.
Active cases accounted for 6.97 percent of all corona cases. The recovery rate rose to 91.54 percent, the health ministry said. The mortality rate was 1.49. So far 10,98,87,303 corona tests have been performed, according to ICMR. Another 10,91,239 tests were conducted on Saturday. About 70 percent of those who die have other chronic illnesses.
