Saloni Subha ( Intern Journalist) Jerusalem: Saeb Erekat the Palestinian negotiator who was a fixture in the effort to make peace with Israel for three decades, died of Covid-19 on Monday at the age of 65.

He spends his last week in an Israeli hospital in Jerusalem, a city he had labored long and unsuccessfully to partitions in order to establish Palestine state there. His condition was critical. He also underwent a lung transplant in the year 2017.

Erekat played several important in the national movement of Palestine. He also served as a top aide to Palestine leaders Yasser Arafat and Mahmoud Abbas and also as a lawmaker and cabinet minister.
