Lucknow: On Tuesday, the Customs team at Amausi Airport was a big success. A flight from Dubai caught foreign cigarettes worth about Rs 2.70 lakh and beauty cream worth Rs 13,800 made in Pakistan. A total of Rs 2,83,800 worth of goods being smuggled were seized. The goods are being seized and investigated.
The matter is Tuesday. 18,000 foreign cigarette sticks were found when the coaches from flight number SG-138 from Dubai were checked as PACS Traveling. These include 4,800 Stick Made in Indonesia, 1,800 Stick Dunhill brand Made in Switzerland, and 11,400 Pine Super Slim Made in Korea. Their total cost is 2, 70 lakhs. With this, the customs team has recovered packets of 138 Pakistan-made beauty creams priced at 13,800. Cigarettes and beauty creams have been seized. The total price of sewed goods is Rs. 1,83,800. It was being brought from Dubai to Lucknow via Packs Traveling.
The investigation is on. Earlier, the Customs team also recovered a huge amount of foreign cigarettes smuggled from Dubai in October. In September, a large consignment of gold was caught at the airport with the promptness of the custom crew members. According to Custom Deputy Commissioner Niharika Lakha, the team has again got a major breakthrough today under the ongoing operations under the direction of Commissioner VP Shukla. This cigarette was recovered from the Lucknow Eye Flight on Tuesday.
