(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist) Patna: A case of murderous spirit for dowry has been reported in village Rasulpur Inayat alias Vabhantoli of Goraul police station area of Vaishali district. Here in-laws tied her to a chair and sprinkled kerosene and burnt her alive. 30-year-old Khushboo Devi died tragically. She was married to Sonu Kumar of Vabhantoli village in the court three years ago. This was her second marriage.
Right from marriage, her husband, Jeth and others started harassing her for dowry. Many times his maternal grandfather came to Vabhantoli and settled the matter by giving money. Even after this, the husband used to pressure her to ask for money from the maiden. For many days, there was a mess in the house over the same thing.
On Monday morning, everyone got together and tied the chair and sprinkled kerosene and set it on fire. She also has two daughters. Khushboo’s mother Kalwa Devi, a resident of Dharampur village in Maa Desari police station area, has submitted an application at the police station saying that her in-laws were killed when the dowry demand was not met. On receiving the information, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Under Inspector of Goraul police station reached the spot. The body was sent to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Station Head Anil Kumar told that the mother has given the application. The FIR is being registered for registration. The police have not made any arrests yet.
