Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Thursday launched India’s first mobile laboratory for testing coronavirus (COVID-19) in rural and inaccessible areas of India. The Union Health Minister said that to ensure testing facilities in remote areas, such innovations have been developed in the interior, inaccessible parts of the country.
In the wave of self-reliant India in science and technology, the Andhra Pradesh Med-Tech Zone has collaborated to address the shortage of critical healthcare technologies in India and is progressively moving towards self-sufficiency.
Explaining the scope of this lab, Vardhan said that it has the ability to perform 25 RT-PCR tests per day, 300 ELISA tests per day, and additional tests for TB, HIV as per CGHS rates. He said that we started a fight against COVID in February with a laboratory. Today, we have 953 laboratories across the country. Out of these 953, there are about 699 government laboratories.
For the information, let us know that in the last 24 hours, there have been 12,881 new coronaviruses (COVID-19) cases. These are the highest cases in which a case is encountered. Significantly, the cases of coronavirus are increasing rapidly in the country. At present, there have been more than 3 lakh 50 thousand cases of coronavirus in the country. According to the information given by the Union Ministry of Health, there are 160384 active cases of coronavirus at present in the country. So far 194324 infected patients have been cured out of total cases. At the same time, 12237 patients have died due to corona. In the midst of all this, the government has extended the lockdown again for the fifth time. This time the lockdown period is till 30 June.
