Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is on a three-day visit to Russia amidst tension between China. Rajnath Singh has participated in the event organized on the 75th Anniversary of Victory Day Parade of Russia’s Victory Day Parade. The parade also includes Indian Army personnel.
Every time some special person goes to attend the Victory Parade from India. This time Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has also arrived to participate. This time, all three forces of India are participating in the parade. China’s defense minister has also joined the parade, but there will be no dialogue between the two countries.
The Defense Minister tweeted that I joined the Victory Day parade at Red Square in Moscow to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the 1941–1945 war. I am proud that a tri-service contingent of the Indian Armed Forces is also participating in this parade.
On Tuesday, Rajnath Singh met with Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov. He tweeted, “I had a wonderful meeting with Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov. India and Russia form special and privileged strategic partnerships and defence relations are one of its important pillars. We reviewed our defence cooperation and discussed ways to expand it.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is on a visit to Russia after a violent clash with Chinese troops in the Galvan Valley and it is believed that during this time, the Defense Minister will talk to Russia about the delivery of weapons soon. Including fighter aircraft, tanks and submarines. The most important agreement with Russia on large arms is the S-400 defence system. India was supposed to get the S-400 missile defence system by December 2021, but its delivery is being delayed due to the Covid-19. Apart from this, India is also demanding early supply of Sukhoi 30M and T-90 tanks.
