Honda recently launched its WR-V BS6 crossover this week and now the company is going to launch its fifth-generation Honda City sedan in the country. The Japanese carmaker is going to launch its new generation City in the country on July 15, 2020. After launching in India, Honda City will compete with Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento and Maruti Ciaz.

Honda has already started online booking of this car and has started taking a token amount of Rs 5,000 for it. The car is available for pre-order through the dealership, as customers will have to make an upfront payment of Rs 21,000. The upcoming sedan is essentially the 7th generation of the car from a global perspective. Apart from Honda City, the carmaker is also going to launch the diesel variant of its next vehicle BS6 Civic in the country.

The new-generation Honda City offers petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine comes with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder unit that generates a power of 119 bhp and torque of 145 Nm. The engine comes with a 6-speed manual and CVT options. At the same time, the 1.5-litre engine, equipped with BS6 standards, comes with a 4-cylinder unit that comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox. This engine generates 98 bhp power and 200 Nm torque.
