(Riya Saha, Intern Journalist)RANCHI: A cabinet minister in Jharkhand has been tested positive for Covid-19 late on Tuesday night.
The minister, who is an MLA of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), was shifted to the Covid-19 ward of Ranchi’s Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims) around midnight.
Besides the minister, another MLA of JMM also tested positive in Dhanbad on Tuesday evening. He was shifted to COVID 19 ward of BCCL Central Hospital at night. On Monday evening, he had dined with 150 people at a function in Sindri.
Both the minister and the MLA recently met with the CM, a source pointed out.
Jharkhand’s Covid-19 tally surpassed the 3,000 marks on Tuesday night after 141 new infections were reported from 10 districts. This was the biggest spike in the state since June 8, when 187 cases were detected.
Besides fresh infections, two casualties were reported taking the state’s death toll to 22.
