(Juhi Aishwary, Journalist): The market capitalization of 6 of the 10 most valuable companies in the Sensex increased by Rs 1, 03,625.35 crores last week. About half of this increase was made by Reliance Industries (RIL) alone. RIL, TCS, HDFC Bank, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Infosys, and HDFC increased their market capitalization in the week trading week on Friday. At the same time, Bharti Airtel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ITC and ICICI Bank suffered losses on the M-cap front. The BSE Sensex saw a spurt of 572.91 points or 1.59 percent last week.
These companies benefited in M-Cap last week
Last week, the market capitalization of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) increased by Rs 57,688.58 crores to Rs 11, 90,857.13 crores. Similarly, HDFC Bank’s market cap increased by Rs 17,102.22 crore to Rs 6, 06,867.94 crores. The market position of Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) increased by Rs 12,088.43 crore to Rs 5, 22,481.19 crores.
TCS and Infosys also get M-cap
The market capitalization of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) increased by Rs 8,499.15 crore to Rs 8,33,648.55 crore in the week under review. Similarly, the market cap of a giant IT company Infosys increased by Rs 8,177.58 crore to Rs 3,32,980.71 crore. At the same time, HDFC’s market position increased by Rs 69.39 crore to Rs 3,27,189.91 crore.
ITC, Bharti Airtel’s market valuation down
ITC’s market valuation decreased by Rs 16,041.36 crore to Rs 2,38,838.05 crore during the period under review. Bharti Airtel’s market capitalization decreased by Rs 3,491.56 crore to Rs 3, 13,530.88 crores. Kotak Mahindra Bank’s market cap decreased by Rs 791.52 crore to Rs 2, 67,039.65 crores. ICICI Bank’s market capitalization declined by Rs 420.94 crores to Rs 2, 33,361.95 crores in the same period.
RIL remains on top
RIL topped the list of 10 most valuable companies in the country last week. It is followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, HUL, Infosys, HDFC, Bharti Airtel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ITC and ICICI Bank.
