New Delhi: (Geetesh Ujjainwal. Intern Journalist) Corona positive patients who have been admitted to the hospitals are not allowed to meet their family members. It becomes very difficult to not be with your loved ones when they are not physically and mentally fit. To bridge this gap Delhi government introduces the video call facility. On June 25, the first such facility was launched at the LNJP hospital by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.
After Lok Nayak Hospital in central Delhi, COVID-19 patients admitted at northeast Delhi’s Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital (GTB) and Rajiv Gandhi super specialty hospital (RGSS) will also be able to connect to their relatives via video calls. Tablets have been provided by the Delhi government to make video calls to their families.
Both RGSS and GTB hospital has provided a tablet for each ward. “There are separate booths are established to make video calls to their relatives, Hospital attendants assist them in connecting the calls and even bring the tablets closer to the patients,” the official said.
The official said that seeing and talking to their relatives also brings some cheer to patients and helps them develop mental strength, which is much required in fighting Covid-19.
