New Delhi: (Geetesh Ujjainwal, Intern Journalist) Lakhan Singh (19-year-old) was stabbed by the robbers near Pratap Nagar metro station on July 1, succumbed to injuries on Thursday. The FIR was registered on Thursday after his death.
It was found that a sub-inspector from the Gulabi Bagh police station had attended to the victim, Lakhan Singh, but an investigation was not started as no complaint had allegedly been filed by Singh about the robbery and the attack.
The matter was taken up with senior officers by family members of Singh, after which the sub-inspector and the area SHO were transferred to District Lines. An inquiry was initiated
The incident took place around midnight when Lakhan Singh, who use to work in a factory in Anand Parbat was returning home. He was robbed of rs 1200 by 5 men and when he tried to resist they stabbed him thrice and fled with the money. Singh was taken to a hospital by a PCR van and the local police station was also informed.
Family members told police that two days after being discharged, Singh’s condition becomes critical, after which he was admitted to a hospital near his residence in Shastri Nagar. Later, Singh was shifted to RML hospital, where he died.
