The director of IIT has given this information. IIT Delhi has become the first educational institute to develop the COVID-19 test method.
The institute has granted non-exclusive exempt licenses to companies to do the business of test kits. Although the institute had priced Rs 500 per kit, the company Newtech Medical Devices is yet to announce the price.
The company is launching a kit named ‘Corosure’ today. Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Minister of State for Human Resource Development Sanjay Dhotre will launch the kit. IIT Delhi Director V Ramgopal Rao said This would change the paradigm of the COVID-19 probe in terms of both scales and cost in the country.
This product approved by ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) and DCGI (Controller General of Indian Medicine) is being launched today.
