(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist): Air India has started the method of identifying employees, supported various factors like efficiency, health, and redundancy, who, consistent with an official order, are going to be sent on compulsory leave without pay (LWP) for up to 5 years. Chairman and manager Rajiv Bansal will send employees on LWP for 6 months or for a period of two years extendable up to 5 years.
Departmental heads at headquarters moreover as regional managers are required to assess each employee on the above-mentioned factors and identify cases where option of compulsory LWP are often exercised, the order dated 14 July stated.
