(Rishitha Jaladi, Intern Journalist) Banglore: Former, Para-athlete, Shuttler, Coach, Ramesh Tikaram passed away on Thursday, Fighting with COVID for more than two weeks, at a Private Hospital, in Banglore, Stated Para-Badminton Association of India.
Ramesh, 51 years Old is an Arjuna Awardee, Computer Science engineer from the BMS College of Engineering, Banglore. He is blessed with two daughters. According to the Reports, Ramesh was tested COVID positive, a day after he was admitted to the hospital with a respiratory problem on June 29th. Last month he had good signs of recovery, But the situation depreciated.
Immediately he was shifted to ICU and put on Ventilator. He was Provided with the best medication. His Family members monitored his health via video calls, Souces said.
Ramesh is a resident of the Cantonment area, initially battled with Polio. He first excelled in athletics before his focus shifted to Badminton. He became the founder secretary of the badminton sports association for Challenged, Which is now Known as Para-Badminton, India in 2000. Tikaram was also selected to represent India, at Paralympics, Barcelona.
