Akshi Kamboj (Intern Journalist) Telangana: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao released a sum of Rs 100 crore to the health department for the COVID-19 contingency fund. this additional payment will be given to government doctors, paramedical staff, and everyone working in the health department including contractual employees and those roped in from private agencies, policemen, and sanitation workers in municipalities and panchayats.
The announcement came amid the criticism faced about private hospitals turning away people with COVID-19 symptoms. To this Rao said that people need not go to private hospitals when government hospitals were capable enough to provide treatment free of cost.
“government doctors and staff are well-equipped to treat any number of patients. We should thank the doctors and staff for extending excellent services to contain the spread of the virus and offering good treatment to patients”

The government also agreed to appoint 1200 postgraduate and 200 MBBS doctors in primary health centers. Funds were released to purchase and stock injections vials of Remdesivir, Tocilizumab, and Favilavir tablets.
