A Day in a Woman’s Life

(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist): She comes home from her office completing her night shift, the neighborhood woman judges her being characterless. She gets no sleep instead prepares tiffin for her children who are embarrassed to take her to Parent-Teacher Meeting at school because she can’t speak proper English. She prepares breakfast for her husband without complaining although she is going through menstruation and having cramps.

Later in the day, she is being ranted by her mother-in-law because the food was salty and she remembers how at her home everyone ate the tasteless food she prepared the first time. If she tries to give her opinion on any family matter she is asked to keep quiet, maybe because she is from another house and doesn’t understand the rules of this family.

But even then she always tries that everyone in the family remains happy and all their wishes are fulfilled at every cost. So she happily does all the chores without uttering a word and smiling like it was the best day of her life.
