(Aditya Shaw, Intern Journalist): The Bharatiya Janata Party seems to be getting an edge in exit polls in the by-elections in 7 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. In the exit poll of India Today-Axis My India, BJP is winning. Accordingly, BJP is expected to get 37 percent and Samajwadi Party 27 percent. The Bahujan Samaj Party could get 20 percent and the Congress, which fought on six seats, could get eight percent votes.
The India Today-Axis My India Poll Survey predicts BJP getting five to six seats in UP. Similarly, the Samajwadi Party is projected to get one to two seats and BSP to get one to one seats.
Let me tell you that on November 3, voting was held for the by-elections on seven vacant seats in the UP Assembly. Its results will come on 10 November. In these seats, 88 candidates had submitted their claim, whose fate has been decided in the EVMs. These seats are Noungwa Sadat, Bulandshahar, Firozabad in Amroha district, Tundla safe in Unnao, Bangarmau in Unnao, Ghatampur safe in Kanpur city, Deoria, and Malhani in Jaunpur.
