Afghanistan is the series

(Satya Havilah, Intern Journalist) Abu Dhabi: Afghanistan won the three-match ODI series against Ireland as part of the World Cup Cricket Super League with one match remaining. Afghanistan won the second ODI against Ireland by seven wickets on Sunday. Ireland first scored 259 for 9 in 50 overs. Opener Paul Stirling (129; 12 fours, 4 sixes) scored a century.

Naveen ul Haq took four wickets and Muzir-ur-Rehman three. Afghanistan chased down the 260-run target by losing three wickets in 45.2 overs. ‘Player of the Match’ Rahmat Shah (103 not out; 10 fours, 2 sixes) scored an unbeaten century while Hashmatullah Shahidi (82; 8 fours, 1 six) also scored. The final third ODI will be played on Tuesday.
