(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Agra: According to the Central Pollution Control Board report, the air quality index in Agra was recorded at 50 on Tuesday, which was higher than Monday’s AQI 24. The amount of carbon monoxide in the air was more here. The air quality remained in good condition. According to the report released by CPCB based on data collected at the Automatic Monitoring Station at Sanjay Place, the AQI was 50 in Agra on Tuesday. According to the standards set by the CPCB, air quality is good if the AQI is 0-50, it is satisfactory when it is 51-100.
This was the sixth occasion in August when the air quality remained in good condition. Earlier, AQI was 39 on 7 August, 45 on 12, 31 on 13, 40 on 21, 24 on 24. Whereas in July AQI was 40 on 11 July, 45 on 28, and 37 on 29. Shillong was the cleanest in the country on Monday, with AQI 14. Here the maximum standard amount of carbon monoxide exceeded 25 times of 4 micrograms per cubic meter. While the amount of ultrafine particles is less than the standard 60 micrograms per cubic meter.
