(Harleen Kaur, Intern Journalist)New Delhi. Amazon and Dainik Jagran jointly organized a special webinar on Saturday 26 September to strengthen the business of sellers and merchants. The theme of this webinar was ‘Towards Self-reliant India – Bring in e-commerce to the trade in this festival’.

This webinar was attended by the cabinet minister Siddharth Nath Singh in the Government of Uttar Pradesh as the chief guest. He oversees the department of MSME Investment, Export Textile and Handloom in the state. Other guests at the event included Director, MSME and Sailor Experience (Amazon India) Pranab Bhasin, Founding Director (and Dialogue) Kazim Rizvi, Founder and MD (Ada Chikan) Vinod Punjabi, and Co-Founder (To Be Honest) Ritika Agarwal.

Speaking on the topic of how important the market is to any merchant, Siddharth Nath Singh says, “It is very important for sellers or traders to have a market so that they can sell their product and from that point of view e-commerce is important. it happens.” Singh in his address talked about the schemes being run by his government for MSME. He explained the benefits of e-commerce and encouraged merchants to join it.

In the program, ‘And Dialogue’ founding director Kazim Rizvi considered e-commerce important for self-reliant India. He spoke of ‘Local for Global’ and said that “traders in India make better products and sell their products in other markets with the help of e-commerce”.
