Saloni Subha ( Intern Journalist ) A 55-year-old advocate of the Patna civil court was shot dead on Tuesday by unidentified people in the Safari area under Naubatpur police station on the outskirts of the state capital
According to the police, the incident occurred when Harendra Rai was on his way to Patna Court on his motorcycle. “Three bike-borne assailants intercepted Rai, a resident of Alipur village, and shot him in the chest, killing him on the spot”, informed a police officer.
A police team led by Additional Superintendent of Police Ashok Mehra, from Danapur, rushed to the spot and send the body for Postmortem. Most of the cases handled by Rai was related to liquor smuggling.
“We have cordoned off the area to catch criminal”, informed ASP. ” He had an old dispute with a neighbor also since 2011. We are investigating that also”, said SHO of Naubatpur police station Samarat Choudhary.
