(Satya Havilah, Intern Journalist) Mumbai: Leading journalist Arnab Goswami, editor-in-chief of Republic TV, has made a name for himself in the Bombay High Court on Monday. Arnab Goswami, who was arrested in May 2018 by architect Anvay Nayak and his mother in a suicide case, has approached the Bombay High Court seeking interim bail.
Police, along with a Maharashtra government lawyer, objected that Arnab Goswami should not be granted bail. Attempts by Arnab Goswami for bail were in vain even today.

Mumbai Police arrested Republic TV chief in May 2018 in connection with the suicide of architect Anvay Nayak and his mother. Arnab Goswami has approached the Bombay High Court seeking interim bail. The public prosecutor, Mumbai police, objected that Arnab Goswami should not be granted bail as the case was under investigation and there was a possibility of tampering with his reputation.

No bail for Arnab was argued in the Bombay High Court on Monday. After hearing the arguments, the Bombay High Court refused to grant bail to Arnab Goswami. The Bombay High Court has made it clear that interim orders cannot be issued to the police under the present circumstances. Arnab Goswami was shocked when the Bombay High Court rejected his bail petition.

The Bombay High Court directed Arnab Goswami to file a petition for bail in the Alibag Sessions Court four days before the time to approach the High Court. However, Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami has already filed a petition in the Alibag Sessions Court seeking bail. The Bombay High Court directed the Alibag Sessions Court to decide on the bail petition within four days.

Mumbai police have arrested Republic TV chief Architect Anvay Nayak and his mother in connection with a suicide case in May 2018. Samnabrata Ray, the wife of Arnab Goswami, had approached the apex court alleging that her husband was arrested and sent to jail and that her husband had assaulted by the jailer while he was in jail.

Samyabrata Ray alleged that her husband Arnab Goswami had received death threats from Maharashtra police and jail authorities and that the police and the Maharashtra government should be responsible if anything happened to him. Samyabrata Ray has approached the Supreme Court to grant bail to her husband Arnab Goswami.
