(Rishitha Jaladi, Intern Journalist) Vijayawada: Andhra Police unleashed 119 children who were made to work as child laborers. This was done as a part of Operation Muskaan. Operation Muskaan is a pet Project of AP police to end Child Labour. As a part of this, the Police conducted a raid at various places including, Bandar, Avanigadda, Nandigama, Nuzvid, and Gudivada.
In this Bust, The Police saved 119 Children, among them 18 were girls and the rest were boys. The Police said that these kids are involved in work at various bakeries, hotels, and mechanic shops. Some were also into begging.
Meanwhile, AP DGP, Gautham Sawang launched rescue vehicles for Vijayawada and Guntur on Tuesday as a part of Operation Muskaan. This event took place in the State Police Headquarters. Speaking to the Media DGP Gautham Sawang said, The rescued kids are tested and the ones tested positive will be admitted in the hospitals while the others are sent back to their parents and Guardians. Those who don’t have parents will be admitted to the Child care centers. As of now, over 8,200 children were rescued by the AP Police, under Operation Muskaan.
