(Milcah Anila, Intern Journalist) New Delhi: As the number of corona virus-positive cases in the country spreads alarmingly, good signs are emerging. The reproductive value of the coronavirus has declined in the five states with the highest number of positive cases. The R-value turned out to be below one. Experts say this is giving hopeful signs that the coronavirus is on the decline in the country.
The Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMS) has produced a report to this effect. Currently, more than 80,000 corona virus-positive cases are reported in the country every day. Five states account for the largest share. Thousands of positive cases have been reported in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.
For a few days, their numbers began to decline. Daily bulletins issued by the respective states make this clear.
While the decline in corona positive cases is a positive sign, the decline in its reproductive value is causing more turmoil, said IMS researcher Sitabhra Sinha. He said the R-value had declined after the 19th of this month.
Its value fell below one, recording 0.9 percent. Maharashtra and Karnataka have seen a slight increase since the 19th, according to their study.
Sinha said the coronavirus was expected to be based on cases registered in major cities like Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata, and Bangalore. He said that there was a huge increase in active cases in Maharashtra and if the reproductive value was taken into account on that basis, fluctuations would be recorded.
Although the reproductive value in Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, and Kolkata has been less than one so far, it has shown a slight increase again. Reproductive value as a whole did not reach one. If the same situation continues in the future .. IMS experts have made it clear that the positive cases of coronavirus are unlikely to come under control in the slightest.
