New Delhi. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Birth Anniversary: There are rare people who have all kinds of shortages in their lives, but even after these deficiencies, they never lag behind in fulfilling their dreams.
There is a passion in the mind to fulfill their dreams, which they believe in only after completing it. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, who was sworn in as the 11th President of the country, was also one of such rare people. His childhood dream was to become a pilot, but when he could not succeed in it, he decided to become a scientist, then he became such a scientist that he became a missile man in front of his name.
Now Alam is that only one name comes to mind when the missile man is mentioned, that of former President APJ Abdul Kalam. His contribution in bringing India’s missile program to heights is incredible. His attachment to science and scientists was that despite being President, scientists used to consult him in this regard and he also took interest in it. Kalam was also a part of the project when India sent the first rocket from Kerala Thumba into space. Vikram Sarabhai was not only his boss but also his mentor. Apart from his work, he was also known around the world for his hairstyle.
Won the heart of teachers
Dr. Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 in Rameswaram. He was the 11th President of the country from 2002-2007. He was also awarded the highest honor Bharat Ratna of the country in 1997. Earlier, he received the Padma Bhushan in 1981, the Padma Vibhushan in 1990. He had a degree in Physics and Aerospace Engineering. In the final year of graduation, all the students were given projects which were to be completed within the stipulated time. The project was of a fighter aircraft flying at low altitudes. He accomplished it in the stipulated time of his hard work and won the hearts of his teachers too.
Was the dream of becoming a fighter pilot
During that time, he had a dream of flying in the air and he decided to become a fighter pilot. But in the test that took place to become a fighter pilot, he came in 9th rank whereas only people up to 8th rank were taken for this. This was the moment when he was very disappointed but he did not let this disappointment dominate him and decided to become a scientist. Kalam riding on the dry
In 2006, when Kalam was the President, his years-old dream came true. This dream was to fly in a fighter jet. During his presidential tenure, he flew in the Sukhoi fighter jet. Sharing his experience, he said that he was so lost in trying to control the plane that there was no time to fear. His flight was about 40 minutes. He was 74 years old when he did this feat.
This was the last moment
He went to Shillong in 2015 after being removed from the post of President. He had to give lectures here. At the forefront of his convoy was a young man carrying a rifle in his hand. Kalam sent a message from wireless to this young man standing in security to sit down. But the jawan turned down his request, saying that he was responsible for his safety, so he could not accept it.
Kalam jawan was so impressed with this that he called that jawan in his room and said thank you, buddy. This was nothing less than a precious gift for the young man. Kalam was to deliver a lecture on ‘Creating a liveable planet’ at IIM, Shillong on 27 July. He fell while giving this lecture, after which he was taken to the hospital. He was declared dead there.
