Aatmja Kumari(Intern Journalist): Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed to implement OTS for recovery of revenue due at the time of VAT system. Along with this, instructions have also been given to register at least 25 lakh new traders in GST to increase revenue. He has also directed the authorities to speed up enforcement action against tax-evading traders to increase revenue collection. The Chief Minister has also asked to review the activities of departmental officers on the basis of performance.
The Chief Minister was reviewing the Koriyarkar department at Lok Bhavan on Thursday. He said that UP is the largest state in the country in terms of population and consumer. Hence the recovery of GST here should also increase in the same proportion. The Chief Minister also asked the officials related to revenue collection to decide the accountability and give responsibility to the officers on the basis of their performance. Emphasizing on stopping tax evasion using technology, the Chief Minister said that registration of traders will also be increased. He has also asked the traders registering in GST to make the traders aware of other benefits of registration, including the arrangement of insuring up to 10 lakh free of charge.
Instructing to seek the help of the Trade Welfare Board for registering traders, the Chief Minister has also asked to train traders on filing returns. On this occasion, the Chief Minister enquired about the return filing from the Additional Commissioners of Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, and Meerut, etc. In which instructions have been given to implement OTS for recovery of arrears of VAT.
