(Aditya Shaw, Intern Journalist): The Alibag District Magistrate Court has sent Arnab Goswami and two others, Feroz Sheikh and Nitesh Sharda, to 14 judicial custody in the Anvay Naik suicide case. Arnab’s lawyer Gaurav Parker said this is our big win. MCR (Magisterial Custody Remand) is granted on day one. The court refused police custody and the magistrate was granted custody. We have filed our bail application, it has been put up for debate. It will be decided tomorrow. The Mumbai police on Wednesday evening registered a fresh FIR against TV news channel editor Arnab Goswami and his wife, son, and two others. He lodged a protest in front of the arresting police officers. An FIR was registered under sections 353, 504, 506, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Significantly, Arnab Goswami was arrested by the Maharashtra Police on Wednesday morning. A team of Mumbai Police reached Arnab Goswami’s house in the morning and took him with him in a police van. According to news agency ANI, Arnab Goswami alleged that the Mumbai Police had a scuffle with him, his wife, son, and father-in-law. Republic TV has also issued a statement on this whole matter by issuing a statement. Police say Arnab Goswami has been arrested for abetting a 53-year-old interior designer to suicide.
